home who I am what I do how to reach me

  who I am

I've gotten tenure; directed a research program, various education programs, and a summer camp; and raised a lot of money.

I've taught writing, literature, humanities, women's studies, education, English as a Second Language, and swimming.

I've written a lot, but you can learn about that here.

I've done a bunch of other things too, like answering phones, bagging groceries, and rolling up silverware in napkins.

I have a B.A. from Yale and a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, both in English.

I am on the Board of the Arlington Schools Foundation. I used to be on the Board of the Stratford Ecological Center and the Capital Campaign Working Committee of the Farm & Wilderness Foundation.

I live in Arlington, Massachusetts with my husband and two daughters.

I'm interviewed here, here, and here.
